Gail's Weekly Chamber UPDATE

I hope you had a chance to enjoy Winterfest in Park Ridge last Friday! It was a wonderful event in which many residents and merchants participated! My daughter, Lian, and I started at 116 Main Street where we had 10 entrepreneurs from the Chamber’s EKG celebrating ribbon cuttings with Mayor Frimark – he was a trooper, going from one ribbon cutting to the next until all were completed!

A big thank you to Fred Gillick for allowing us to use 116 Main Street! It was a perfect site for the Chamber’s Entrepreneurial group. Kidwinks got the Chamber’s popcorn machine running and during the height of the night, the line backed out the door for free popcorn! It was a great draw as people could smell the popcorn outside. Thank you also to Debbie Oberschelp, Select Redesign, for decorating the windows of the store front – it was a huge task which she started on Monday to be complete by Friday and the windows were beautiful! Also thank you to Lynda Tourloukis for heading up the EKG and coordinating everyone’s efforts in being there! And I’m excited about my family getting our portrait taken by Diddy and Greg at A Sterling Design for our Christmas cards!

Thank you also to Kathleen Frey, Pioneer Press, and Rosemary Sajovic, The Journal, for the wonderful press and ads for Winterfest!

Only 24 days until Christmas! Yikes!

It was a fabulous event that many pitched in to make happen! Thank you to Tim Malz, president of the South Park Merchants Association, Kim Uhlig from the City, and Mary Dalton from the Library too! The very first on record in the archives was held on November 28, 1958!)
