Gails' Weekly Chamber UPDATE

Chamber members I visited over the weekend – Hay Caramba for Friday night dinner, Park District’s Hinkley Park for Beaglefest on Saturday, Oakton College for ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on Saturday, Rainbow Hospice Benefit on Saturday night called ‘Home Sweet Home’ which featured beautiful décor by Amphora (I bought an orchid plant!) and wine from WineStyles and fabulous appetizers from All on the Road Catering!
Last week was the Chamber board meeting and the following new members were approved so please welcome them:

Also last week was the Multi Chamber Networking Breakfast in Skokie – we only had a couple Chamber members who attended but we participate anyway because for those couple of Chamber members, its important to be able to network with other Chambers’ members.

The Chamber’s Retail Committee met and the planning for First Fridays continues. The posters are in the kiosks in Uptown. Kickoff of the first one is June 3.

Also last week, the Ambassadors met to receive their new member packets – an Ambassador visits each new member and gives them a Greeter Box and New Member Packet of information about the Chamber. Ambassadors also attend events and introduce members to each. If you would like to be an Ambassador, please email Susan Frangos, Higher Level Wellness and chair of the Ambassadors: susan@higherlevelwellness.com We’re looking for a few good members to be Ambassadors for the Chamber!

The Health Care Forum held its first educational event last week at the Senior Center on ‘Healthy, Well-thy and Wise’.

PREN 3 met. And of course the Women in Business had their monthly meeting which was a luncheon catered by Jason’s Deli with keynote speaker Victoria Cook, the Guilt-Free Coach.

All in all, another busy week in the Park Ridge Chamber!
Tomorrow is the New Member Orientation which is open to anyone who wants to come and learn more about Chamber benefits! Here at 720 Garden from 9 to 10, it’s sponsored by the Ambassadors. RSVP to the Chamber so we know how many chairs to have!

PREN 2 will meet immediately afterwards from 10:30 to 11:30 and I’m hoping all the new members who come for the orientation will also attend the leads and referral networking group, not only to hear Michael Watson, Watson’s Studios, speak but also to see how it works.

The Health Care Forum meets on Wednesday at 9 – here – so come out for it.

Our monthly Business After Hours is this Thursday, May 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jeanine Schulz Memorial School located at 2101 W. Oakton which is across the street from the McDonalds. Bring lots of business cards and enjoy refreshments while learning more about our host.

Michael Biskupski is the executive director. There are two parking lots and they will give tours of the school.
