Weekly Chamber Update

The August Chamber newsletter is at Citywide for printing right now and we will need help assembling it because the Maine East HS students are off for the rest of the summer. Let me know if you can help for even an hour (stuffing, sorting, labeling, sealing – nothing heavy).

I hope to see you this evening at Blufish Sushi Bistro from 5 to 7 for the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting. We’ll cut the ribbon as soon as the mayor arrives around 6 or so.

We’re looking for sponsors for the golf outing which is Monday, September 12. If you’d like to help out, let me know. We’re running an early bird special – if you sign up and pay by August 12, you’ll get early bird discounts for golfing at a private club!

And don’t forget that our Business After Hours is this Thursday, 5 to 7, at the Elks Lodge! See below for details.

Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce members are well read! The Women in Business networking event for July was the 5th annual book discussion and brought in a lively crowd of members each passionate about their books! Maggie Hommel, Reader Services Manager, Park Ridge Public Library lead the book discussion over a light, summer meal of assorted sandwich wraps, fresh fruit, desserts and beverages all catered by Perry's on Devon. The great list of recommended books is on the Event Photos section of the Chamber website. Check it out here!

Gift Certificates are still needed for the Park Ridge Beautification Awards Program! Last year, Chamber members generously gave gift certificates because the City cut the $100 awards out of the budget. If you’re able to donate gift certificates, please drop them off at the Park Ridge Chamber Office (10 awards so 10 gift certificates please).
